How to avoid a $600.00 repair bill

When rodents cozied up in my wife’s Hyundai one winter evening, they found the wiring particularly tasty.

“Why is that light on?”, she asked, and I didn’t have an answer for her until I lifted the hood. It was then that I found wiring that had been eaten through along with an entire section of firewall insulation.

Turns out that these critters hate mothballs, and after installing this mothball holder in the vicinity of the damage, they have not returned.

The little buggers still owe me $600.00 though; that’s what Towne Hyundai of Denville charged to splice two wires and cover them with electrical tape. They didn’t replace the firewall insulation, because it would have been well over a thousand dollars.

A word to the wise; use mothballs to ward off evil spirits, and covering up bare wires with wire loom couldn’t hurt either.
